RFA downs Proctor in
match at Valley View

Proctor's David Lasek hits from the green-side bunker on the par-3 18th
hole during Wednesday's match against Rome Free Academy at Valley
View Golf Course
.
Trio powers Black Knights to victory
Eamon Dempsey, Joe Katchmar and Matt Hughes each fired
3-over-par 38 Wednesday to lead the Rome Free Academy Black
Knights to a 198-234 victory over Thomas R. Proctor at Valley
View Golf Course.

The Black Knights improved to 5-3 overall with four matches
remaining  before the sectional qualifier at Green Lakes Golf
Course on October 7.

Larry Desiato shot 44 to lead the Raiders, who fell to 0-9. Desiato,
a senior, has made the sectional qualifier as an individual and the
Raiders have qualified as a team.

To qualify, an individual has to shoot under 40 twice, with at least
one coming at a road course.

A team qualifies by totaling 215 or less twice, and just like an
individual, can't have both scores coming on its home course.

Sophomores Steve Depot (46), Alex Brown (47), Dave Lasek (48)
and junior Lee Barker (49) all contributed for Proctor Wednesday.

Proctor head coach Bernie Creedon said he has three definites
for the qualifier - Desiato, Barker and Lasek. The other spots will
likely be determined next week during a playoff.

The Black Knights, who have also qualified for Green Lakes as a
team, host Oswego Monday at Rome Country Club.

Proctor closes its regular season with two road matches. The
Raiders play at Corcoran Friday, then are at Central Square
Wednesday.
