ROME - Lauren Cupp (Rome Country
Club) shot 76 Sunday at Rome Country
Club to win her fourth consecutive
Tournament of Champions Women’s
Open Division title.
Steates, of Rome Country Club, held off
a late charge by three-time champion
Linda Ptak (Golf Club of Newport). Ptak,
who had 3 birdies, posted an 84.
In the Senior Women’s Division,
Maureen Grasso (Sadaquada Golf Club)
posted an 84 to defeat defending
champion Deborah Enders by one
stroke. Grasso built a 4-stroke lead on
the back nine and then held on to edge
Enders, who closed her round with a
birdie on number 18 to make it close.
Ricky Doolittle (Glass Hill Golf Club) won
the Super Senior Women’s Division with
a sudden death victory over Carol
Chiarello (Stonebridge Golf Club).
Doolittle and Chiarello traded the lead
several times during the round with both
posting scores of 92. Doolittle claimed
the victory on the first hole of a sudden
death playoff.
